One smart policy beats two dead birds: coastal restoration that pays in carbon, water, and then some

This policy exploration research was developed as a project for the Carbon Management course at MIT, led by Prof. Cesar Terrer and Prof. Charles Harvey. Massachusetts already has rigorous policies on wetland protection. For the sake of decarbonization and ecological restoration beyond already existing regulations and policies, this project explores how modifying the existing Wellhead Regulation can support wetland restoration and provide additional cost effective carbon abatement to help Massachusetts reach Net-Zero by 2050.
